not a whole lot
happened this week that was different then last week (excpt sorry no
crazy abandoned towns this week haha) but we found a lot of towns in our
area that are just dirt now. i guess a lot of our area is super old so
they are tearing it all down to rebuild, so a lot of addresses we have
on record are wrong because their houses arent there anymore. so that
was always disappoint to walk all they way there to find dirt! but its
okay because we still get to talk to people on the way there.
yesterday
we were going to an older ladys house after church so visit her, we
like to go and sing primary songs to her, shes the cutest lady! but she
didnt end up being home and we still had an hour before our next
appointment so we decided to explore that part of our area. so while we
were walking we got to a part of the road were we could go left, right,
or straight. so sister hwang told me i could choose which way we went so
i randomly chose to go left. we started walking that way when all of a
sudden a lday walking toward us says "oh sisters! i have been lost, can
you help me find the temple?" she is one of the temple missionaries and
had only been here for one week and she went on a walk but couldnt find
her way back. so she we were able to help her go find the temple. she
told us that she knows heavenly father was looking out for her beacuse
he sent us to help her. so who knew picking to go left randomly was
actually the spirit telling us which way to go!
so
this week i decided the best 2 gifts you can give a missionary is 1.)
cheese, cheese is so expensive here, so we never can buy it. but after
one of the dinners we had with a member they gave us a package of cheese
and we have eaten it with every meal since (we even ate quesadillas!!)
2.) a laminator (i think we met Mary Poppins this week) we randomly got a
text from someone asking if we could meet her at the temple at 6 so we
went. and she pulls out a laminator from her bag and a bag of chocolates
to give to our investigators. and then she realized that i was on
exchanges so the sisters i was with were from another area, so then she
goes to her locker and pulls out another laminator for them and the same
bag of chocolates, along with another huge back of chocolates, then we
talk to her a little longer and she says oh one sec, goes back to her
locker comes back with a hug box of chocolates for us and then we still
talk to her and she goes back and grabs another hug back of chocolates,
we were speechless! she is from swiss and her husband had sent her with
all that stuff to share with her korean friends but she said the people
she had thought of was the missionaries. it was so kind!!! so we spent
some time this past week laminating message cards for all the less
actives we have been trying to visit! it was the best!!!!!!!!
thank
you for all the ideas, we wil have to try them! yeah i know elder
Wagner has a costco card, we wanted them to go get us cereal there
because its way cheaper there but they havent had a chance to go yet.
they said the next time they go they will tell us so they can get us
stuff.
im glad you are starting to feel better, getting sick is the worst!
well i love you so much!
have a great week
love sister hemenway
right i would have never thought about giving missionaires that, but it
has been so fun to use!!! haha i dont know how much american
missionaires would use it though, because i dont know if they do message
cards.
i think they are getting ready to tear it down.... i dont know haha
awww yeah dont worry i have a lot of chocolate, thats probably also why i have gotten fat haha
yeah i can do that next time, this apartment is so nice!!!!!
this one is just a couple floors, we are on the second floor so we dont have any views besides the building across the street!
he told me that he is leaving now in june, so thats like what i did! im
so excited for him. he seems to be really prepared to leave. he even
sent me a scripture that he loved this week!
i am so proud of him.
and actually this week i have seen a lot of improvement with my korean, so i have been happy!
i can understand more then i can speak, i still dont understand everything but each week it gets better and better
