i honestly have no idea what happened this week, all of our
appointments fell through this week except for 2 of our english classes
(nice that you can usually count on those) so nothing terribly exciting
happened this week!
in one of our classes this
week we had 3 new students come, so we had a pretty decent sized class,
one of the new students actually brought his dad because his dad wanted
to see how we were running the class to see if his son could keep
coming, plus he was guessing we were the "mormon church" so he was
asking us a bunch of questions at the beginning of class (since our
church has a lot of bad rumors thrown at us) but he really liked it and
said that he is okay with his son coming, both of them even stayed for
the gospel message and they told us they actually have a lot of interest
in learning about our church, so that was exciting! we are trying to
figure out when the dad can meet! one of the other students, saw our
banner outside the church and saw that it said free english so just
decided to walk in 40 mins after class started but we invited him in
anyway and he really liked it too and stayed for the message too! and
turns out he is the only one in his family who is religious, he is
catholic but converted to that about 5 years ago! we hope they come back
next week!
we got to watch conference this
past week and i loved it sooooo much! i am so grateful to be able to
hear the prophets voice and have the chance to follow him. i was able to
go into conference with a couple of different questions and was able to
receive answers to all of them. one of the questions i had was why was i
called to korea, because honestly it has been extremely hard and not
what i expected when i thought of a mission (i will explain all that
when i get home because i dont know how to put all of that into words
through email hahah) and a lot of the talks talked about the god allows
us to go through hard times because he knows we can handle it and he
knows that we will benefit us in the future. one talk i really liked i
cant remember what it is called but it talked a lot about when we ask
"Why me" and i felt like i have asked that a lot during the mission but i
know eventually in the future i will be able to saw oh thats why. also
in his talk he talked about when his daughter felt like she needed to
serve a mission and it reminded me alot of when i had to call dad and
tell him that i felt like i need to go on a mission and how extremely
grateful i am that i finally had the guts to make that phone call 2
years ago this month because looking back from that night to now my life
has been forever changed! sorry that was a bunch of random thoughts
thrown into one haha but keep reading those talks!!!
love you so much!!!

Hemenway 자매
no i really do love my mission, it is the mission that i
needed but at times i dont realize that, one of the hardest parts is
just comparing it to other missions. like we watch the district and read
pmg then look around our mission and see none of that happening or you
read other missionaries emails and see all the success they are having
then you look at our mission and you have to measure success by other
ways. so it is just different then what you would expect so at times it
is hard but it is something that i really did need! so dont worry i
really do love my mission hahah
yeah i know i was definitely called here for a reason and there is no
other place i would have rather gone. i have learned things here that i
dont think i could have learned anywhere else and i think it definielty
makes you grow up fast thats for sure haha just sometimes its hard to
remember that until i have a humbling experience again.. whoops haha but
i am so happy when i read hunters emails and see all that he is doing
there and am happy that he will have a different mission then me so he
can learn things that will help him! oh guess what transfer calls are
this week... and i am freaking out cause i have no idea what will
happen!!!
Just fyi... I am teaching about Joseph Fielding Smith this week and
as I was studying about him found out that he was called on a mission
after being married about a year and got sent to a mission in England
that didn't have many baptisms. He didn't baptize
a single person his whole 2 years. You are right. Each mission is just
different when it comes to why you are there.
yeah i have definitely learned that. i have come to learn
that missionary work can be done in so many other ways then just door
knocking or street contacting because neither of those work here haha
and yes my comp is at the end of her mission which means i am getting a
new comp but there isnt a lot of sisters left in the missions so i dont
think we will have a 4 sister house next transfer so i think there is a
chance i might transfer too....
haha i hope i stay though i dont want to get transferred
again, i hope i just stay here until i go home since i have 2 left
anyway and thank you! love you too
we are going to seoul again, sorry i have spent a lot of
money recently but i need to buy new shoes, my shoes right now may or
may not have holes in them and my comp is making me go buy new ones.... i
probably should have a long time ago i am just to lazy haha
