so lots of changes this week. my trainer, sister lynn is
being transferred and so is sister 최 so im really sad to so them go but i
know they will be great in their new areas. im staying in 길음 and i will
be getting Sister Stringham, i think she is from utah but i cant
remember. **im actually realㅣy nervous for this transfer because my new
companion is really nice but SUPER peppy, and im not.... i have really
come to learn on my mission that i need to watch what i say and my
thoughts because while i was in the mtc i told sister bridge that i hope
im never in a trio and then i end up in two and then i thought to
myself i hope i dont end up with sister stringham because she has a big
personality, and then i end up with her. oh well lessons learned haha**
her korean is really good so i think she will be able to help me a lot
with mine, so im excited for that!
ummm yes it
has been freezing here so enjoy your warm winter! its supposed to snow
today but im hoping it doesnt. yeah luckily i spent the past few winters
in utah but this is still colder then that because of the humidity so
thats not fun. i will have to buy more winter stuff cause besides my
coat and one beanie i have nothing. the other night my district decided
to go streetboarding and normally we do it for a hour and a half but we
only last 40 mins because it was freezing, i couldnt feel my toes, hands
(i even bought hand warmers but they didnt work very well), nose, or
face. so we went home and drank a lot of hot chocolate... and they say
it only gets colder so lets hope i live through the winter! haha i think
thats one of the bad parts of being a walking mission is that you are
always outside!
this week has been really
good! we were able to meet with the girl from america, kayla, and it was
so good! we met with her at the church at 1 on friday and she was able
to ask us some questions so we talked to her about prophets and some
other stuff and then we ordered chicken. we then had a lady come at 3
because that was our next appointment so kayla was getting up to leave
when the lady asked why she was leaving, so kayla was like "i can
stay?!" so we were like yeah if you want. so she said and helped us with
the english part. we taught the restoration, in korean to the lady, but
i watched kaylas face the whole time and she was really listening, we
put the pamphlet on the table to show a picture and after she picked it
up and read it. it was really cool! and then after the appointment ended
at 4 and the lady left, kayla turned to us and asked do you really thin
k god talks to you when you pray. so we were able to tell her that we
know that god answers prayers every time you pray, but it might not be
when you want it to be answered or how you want it to be answered. so i
shared with her my experience of choosing to serve a mission that my
prayer was answered through other people, so you never know how it will
be answered. then she started to tell us a story of when she first moved
to korea that she was having a really hard time but then all of a
sudden she met a realy good friend, she said she didnt pray but now that
she thinks about it she thinks that was because god helped her. so we
said that god knows what you need, he knows whats in your heart even if
you dont pray directly. we were supposed to have another appointment at
4:30 and then all of a sudden she texted and said she couldn't make it,
and then we were supposed to have a dinner appointment with a member and
then they texted and canceled. we are pretty sure it was because we
needed to be there to answer Kaylaㄴ questions. we were then taught her
the plan of salvation, law of chasity, word of wisdom and a few other
things. she loved the plan of salvation because all other religions have
heaven and hell but we have other things. she ended up leavign the
church at 6:30, so she was with us all day. but it was really good!

you remember the girl we met from Colombia? we were able to met with
her to this past week and she even came to church with us so she could
hear sister lynns goodbye talk in sacrament meeting and then she stayed
the rest of chuch. she doesnt really know any korean so sister lynn
translated for her. i was worried because in gospel doctrine they were
talking about missionary work and they were saying that missionaries
first become friends with people which is different then other
missionaries, but i was worried she was going to take that wrong that we
were only faking being her friend, but then the sister who was teaching
the class made all of us missionaries share our testimonies and why we
are serving missions, and the spirit was really strong in the room and i
think she felt it too, so i was glad that she was bable to attend that
lesson. after church she stayed with us for a little and asked us a few
questions and we were able to teach her about family history and she
loved it! she said when she got home she wanted to do it because thats
amazing that we can trace our family lines so far back!
well
overall that week was really good, it went by way to fast! im nervous
but excited for all the changes this week, so ill let you know next week
how it goes!

at times she seems to be obnoxious so we will see how this goes! she is the conductor for our mission choir
thanks! she has a lot of deep questions so i think she will keep meeting
with us to get them answered and hopefully we can help her develop more
faith at the same time!

yeah i need warm clothes! my korean companion looked at my closet last
night and she asked why i didnt have any and i was like uhh cause i left
on my mission in the summer and when you live in arizona you cant buy
winter clothes during the summer, or even during the winter and she was
like of yeah i forgot you lived in arizona haha
yeah it was really cool because i didnt even realize and i wouldn't have
if sister lynn didnt say anything! its crazy how fast people can learn a
language when they are on missions. everyone is really surprised here
how fast missionaries learn korean because korean is the 2nd hardest
langugae for english speaks but we learn it really fast! no we didnt, i dont think we have that here but im not positive!

i have lived in my fleece tights all week haha and i bought a scarf last week and have used that every day too!
oh i forgot to tell you a cool story!
so
earlier this week me and my companions were walking down the street, my
korean companion was telling me a story so we were talking back and
forth, when sister lynn turns to me and says you realize that whole
story was in korean right? and i was like umm no it was mostly in
english and sister lynn was like um no i was listening, she only used
one word in english. so that was cool, i understood a whole story in
korean without realizing it
it was really cool! the temple here is so small but so pretty. it was
much needed o be able to forget about all the stress for a little bit
and only feel peace!
